You have booked a rigid inflatable for the day from Pampelonne. You have a whole day ahead of you, bathed in sunshine, turquoise waters and all the freedom in the world. The question is: what to do with all that?
After years of taking clients to discover the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Lucas has perfected the ideal day at sea. A flexible itinerary, suited to all profiles, combining the most beautiful swimming spots, an unforgettable lunch break and a sunset from the bay.
The ideal itinerary — from 9am to sunset
Launch from Pampelonne
Meet Lucas on Pampelonne beach. Quick briefing, safety equipment check, explanation of the boat's controls. Then you cast off. The day begins.
Cap Camarat — first swim
Heading east, you reach Cap Camarat in 20 minutes with its exceptionally clear waters. The Camarat lighthouse dominates the coast from its 130 metres height. Anchor in a sheltered cove, dive into 24°C water and enjoy this first swim of the day. Mask and snorkel recommended.
Cap Taillat — the absolute jewel
Head to Cap Taillat, 20 minutes away by boat. This is where the magic truly happens. Anchor in the turquoise waters of the tombolo, swim in unreal transparency. Not a single building on the horizon, just nature in its purest state. Take the time to soak in this unique place on the Riviera.
Lunch at sea or ashore
Two options await you. Option A: picnic on board, feet in the water at Cap Taillat — cheeses, charcuterie, chilled rosé, melon. Provence in all its splendour. Option B: quick return to Pampelonne for lunch at Club 55 or one of the beach restaurants. Reservation recommended.
"The best gastronomic experience on the French Riviera? A cheese board and a bottle of rosé, feet in the water at Cap Taillat. Beat that." — Lucas Bourdon
Snorkeling — underwater life
In the afternoon, head to the posidonia meadows between Cap Camarat and l'Escalet. Mask, snorkel, fins — you discover a fascinating world just a few metres below the surface. White sea bream, rainbow wrasse, labridae, starfish, sea urchins. The seabed of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez is of unsuspected richness for the uninitiated.
Sunset from the bay
To finish in style, anchor in the bay of Pampelonne facing the setting sun. The sky turns orange, the Var hills are ablaze, the gulf takes on the colours of a postcard. Glass of rosé in hand, you watch the sun disappear behind the Maures massif. The perfect day is over. Back to base.
